Wendy Williams Responds to Criticism on Aaliyah Movie

Talk show host Wendy Williams appeared unbothered on Monday during her show when she addressed the harsh criticism of the film Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. Fans of the late music star dragged Wendy’s name through the mud after the movie premiered.Williams was an executive producer for the movie which aired on Lifetime over the weekend. She stated to audience members on Monday:

“I see my Aaliyah movie broke the internet this weekend,” Williams said. “Everybody got an opinion. Well, I must tell you, whether you loved it or hated it, you watched. It was the second highest-rated movie on all of cable this year so far. Not just Lifetime, but all of cable…So, thank you.”

When Wendy jumped on board to be a part of the movie, she promised individuals that they could count on her to get the story right. Well I’m sorry Mrs. Williams but nothing about the movie was right. Sadly ratings and money took priority over making a quality movie about the R&B icon that was so influential to music
