Darren Wilson Resigns

Darren Wilson, the 28 year old officer that shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown resigned from the Ferguson police department. In his resignation letter he stated: “It was my hope to continue in police work, but the safety of other police officers and the community are of paramount importance to me. It is my hope that my resignation will allow the community to heal.”

Wilson had been an officer for the Ferguson police department since 2011. Last week after a grand jury made the decision not to indict Wilson for the death of Michael Brown, the city of Ferguson turned into a war zone as some protesters rioted and set businesses on fire.
