Most people believe that celebrities have the perfect life. They have fame, money, nice cars, huge homes; what could there possibly be to complain about?
Beyonce recently released a short film called Yours and Mines where she briefly talks about the downside to fame. Not having anonymity, not being viewed as a human being, and being the property of the public are just a few downsides to fame that the singer mentions.
In regards to fame Beyonce says the following:
"I sometimes wish I could just be anonymous and walk down the street just like everyone else. Before I was famous, I was the girl on the hill with the guitar. I was the girl that just wanted a beautiful view of the beach and now that I am famous it’s really, really difficult to do very simple things. I think it’s the hardest thing to give up, but my mother always taught me to be strong and never be a victim, never make excuses, never expect anyone else to provide for me; things that I know I can provide for myself. I have dreams and I feel like I have a power to actually make those dreams become a reality."
The life of a celebrity is bitter sweet; having to deal with the pressure to stay relevant and young, all while being constantly scrutinized by the public just seems so stressful.
